And you Wonder Why I was so Hard on Genarlow...

This story absolutely disgust me. It makes me question pure evil in the world and further grows my Conservative views when it comes to crime and punishment.

Palm Beach Post
Police: Woman Forced Into Sex With Son
Updated 4:50 PM ET July 6, 2007

By BRIAN SKOLOFF

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Two teenagers were accused of gang raping a woman and forcing her 12-year-old son to join in the attack, then beating him and pouring cleaning solution into his eyes.

Authorities allege Avion Lawson, 14, and Nathan Walker, 16, were among a group of about 10 masked suspects who forced their way into the woman's apartment in a crime-ridden housing project the night of June 18.

The two were being held without bail Friday on suspicion of armed sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, sexual performance by a child, armed home invasion and aggravated battery. Both were arrested this week, but formal charges had not been filed.

"Any rape case is horrible but this takes it to another level, something you can't think of even in your worst dreams," police spokesman Ted White said.

According to the police report, a man knocked on the woman's door at about 9 p.m. and told her he had a flat tire. The mother and son, whom police have not identified, went outside and were ambushed by a group of gun-wielding suspects.

The victims told police they were forced back into their home and beaten and sexually assaulted. According to authorities, the men raped, sodomized and beat the woman, then forced her son to participate in the assault at gunpoint, making him have sex with his mother in front of them.

The boy was then beaten and had numerous household cleaning liquids poured into his eyes, according to the police report.

The suspects also stole a few hundred dollars worth of cash and jewelry, White said.

White said more arrests were pending, but he would not say if authorities had identified additional suspects. The teens in custody were not cooperating, but Lawson confessed to taking part in the attack, White said. Walker has denied involvement, White said.

DNA evidence in a condom found in the victims' home linked Lawson to the crime, police said. Investigators also say they found a palm print belonging to Walker at the scene.

The victims did not suffer life-threatening injuries and have been released from the hospital, White said.

"They're going through the county victim services for counseling," he said.

Lawson lived in Dunbar Village, the hardscrabble project where the attack occurred. Walker was apparently visiting a friend there, White said.

Authorities believe the suspects all knew each other from the neighborhood, but they don't think they knew the victims directly.

Prosecutors have 21 days from the time a suspect is arrested to formally file charges. Lawson was arrested Tuesday. Walker was arrested Thursday.

A call to Lawson's public defender was not immediately returned. It was not known if Walker has an attorney.

Then his mama will be on TV saying how she doesn't believe the charges and her son would never do anything like that. I hope they get the death penalty in this case because there is no rehabilitation from this if you are that far gone as a 14 and 16 year old. None whatsoever. That is pure evil in the flesh.

.........and to the smart ass about what my mother would say. If I did something negative or commited some heinous act I assure you my mother would not mince her words nor would I expect her to. She is a realist and is fully aware of what I am capable of. She does not agree with my chosen path now and has made that very clear but this and that are no where near the same. That is what I meant if my mom was questioned she would say she does not approve or support my life decisions, that I ws not raised that way and that she prays daily for my exit. She is no fan of Ayana I assure. But she is my mom and I respect her and her beliefs etc. Now whoever wrote that about forcing the 12 year old to have an erection. The didnt get that specific who knows what type of sexual act they forced him to do you are missing the point and a little twisted in your thinking?:)

I am very republican texas-style in my thinking when it comes to crime and punishment. I think if the death penalty was enacted more and done quickly instead of 20 years on death row the world would be a better place

Genarlow was living out a "fantasy" with a "willing" participant. I’m trying to come off as being sarcastic because that girl was only 15 and had no idea about what her actions meant until it was too late. Genarlow was months away from being a grown ass man and knew the deal from the word go. Two to five years because everything was well planned/scripted and they were both in high school is acceptable. If he would have been 18…ten years w/o parole.

This Florida story on the other hand...God does not like ugly. What you do to yourself is between you and our higher power...we get a small bit of leniency when we hurt ourselves and others that CHOOSE to participate. But, when you do this type of unthinkable evil to others...burning in hell is probably a picnic compared to what they’ll truly face. And before all of that, there will be some justice served behind bars by some of our most hardened criminals. It never fails...karma is a force to be reckoned with.

Now…about being conservative. I have to agree that members of our society have too much access to things that influence parts of them that they can’t seem to control. It’s obvious that the people who participated in the Florida crime were mentally sick. I want to know what influenced them. Was it the violence and sex that is on TV/radio channels all day? They had to be very weak people because I saw/heard the same things growing up and didn’t decide to gang rape and destroy families for life. So…would clamping down on the media in the US help anything? In other areas of the world…the general public does not have access to many of the things that we refer to as “fruits” of freedom. As a result, crime is all most non-existent in these areas. Wait a minute before we adopt this as our template for future use…women are not respected in most cases. Can we water down this form of conservatism so that women are not treated like second class citizens? Oh, and let’s make sure slavery and its aftermath doesn’t return either. My ancestors dealt with it as best as they could…I thank them and don’t want to think of having to live like that now. I can’t sit where? Have you lost your mind?

Out of curiosity, could you please define conservatism in your eyes?

I wonder what your mother would say about you if interviewed by the media?

You're wrong about Genarlow Wilson, but right on point with this case. Those guys belong in prison, Wilson should have gotten probation. The only reason Genarlow is still in prison is because the D.A who tried the case appealed the decision to release him. I hate the fact that you continue to persecute Genarlow in your blogs. People support him and he will eventually be freed from prison. Face it, the Georgia law that put Genarlow in prison for ten years is ridiculous; but then again the whole state of Georgia is ridiculous. As for the rape case they should be sent to prison for a really long time but death, come on Ayana, let's not be ridiculous, there are people who commit murder that don't get the death sentence, some don't even get life. I agree the crime was brutal but we want the punishment to fit the crime, I myself wouldn't lose sleep at night if they got life. As for the poster who made the comment about what would your mother say, it seems to me that that person was asking what would your mother say if she was question by the media about your lifestyle.

Maybe he wanted to have sex with his mom, how do you force a male to get an erection? Unless he was forced to perform oral sex on her. If my mom was fine like you no one would have to force me to have sex with her.

Genarlow has been raked over the coals on this matter, and did not receive due process. But on the flip side, he should have used alittle more common sense during this incident, maybe the outcome would have been different.

Anyway, this second case is obsolutely sickening to me. I really feel that the justice system is in need of a major over haul from top to the bottom. Criminals do not respect the system, and treat it like Club Med, or a vacation hot spot!! Second, I am tired of hearing what problems occurred in thier past life that contributed to the criminal mind. Grown tha heck up, stop blaming mom, dad, the cat, the dog; and take personal responsibility for your actions!

Lastly, I too, have a conservative mind when it comes to the death penalty. I am sick and tired of watsing my tax paying dollars keeping a mass murderer alive. These sick fools need a one way ticket out of here for what they committed. No excuses, period!!! You take a life, we take yours!!!! Plain and simple!!! These kids need to see and know that there is real punishment for crimes that are committed. Let's bring back the chain gangs, and hot-seat the long list on death row.

Whateva happen to due process. The same thing that keep criminals sentence to death on death row for 20 years, is keeping Genarlow Wilson in prison. The rights to appeal. Now if you are in agreement with the decision of the D.A. to appeal the release of Genarlow Wilson, then you have to give the same consideration to those sentence to death. Besides the prison system is big business, they make money by having prisoners in their prison, so they benefit from having someone on death row for 20 years, while we the tax payers see our dollars making others pockets richer. As for the comment about evil, hmmmm, think about it, evil comes in all forms, you say your mother doesn't approve of your lifestyle, well doesn't one of the ten commandments state Honor thy mother and thy father. Therefore by not honoring her are you putting evil into play? Just one of those questions that make you say HMMMMMM!

Ayana I just want you to please please tell me what these two stories have in common. I see two teenages raping a woman and beating her and her son and a guy that had sex with a girl that was willing and they were only two years apart and both are children. I am sorry but 17 is a child to me. Just please tell me how these stories are alike. Thanks:)
I hope things are going well for you too. Are you still having your contest?

I say gas the little sickos as well. Anybody who would force a mother and son to have sex doesn't deserve to be among us. Or at least lock them in a dark, tiny cell for the rest of their lives and blast "Who Let the Dogs Out" on repeat. Worse than death.

Also, happy belated birthday! I hope your day was filled with fun, loved ones and a phat piece of marble cake.

Come on,now! I hate crime as much,if not more than anyone, but to compare what Genarlow did to what that group of thugs did is WAY OFF!!

What those thugs did was inhumanly cruel and i hope they are punished to the fullest extent of the law! With Genarlow,it was a case of TWO under age kids having consentual sex. The hell with the crazy law on the books! To give that young brotha TEN YEARS for doing something that him and the young girl did together is TOTALLY RACIST!

Here was a young man who was a promising althlete and from all account a decent young man.A saint? Maybe not,but to take ten years out of his life is cruel! A woman shot her preacher husand to death while he slept and she got off with PAROLE!!!!

I say let the punishment fit the crime!

Dang, a couple of the guys who left responses don't have a clue. What Ayana does with her life and what her mother thinks of it has absolutely nothing to do with this sick, sick crime. Ayana does not force anyone to do anything. If you don't want to look at her work, then don't. It's that simple. She is honest and very, very real - smart as hell too! Not perfect cuz none of us is...

And the madness about this 12-year-old possibly having a fine mother and an erection is just that: pure madness and doesn't deserve a response.

I worked in STD control for years and was aware of some other deviant cases. Little girls around age 11 sold into prostitution (crazy males were low lifes and had sex with these children) by mothers that were mentally ill and addicted to various drugs; babies even younger sexually assaulted by male animals (I can't call them men).

But this case, is beyond belief. And to think what this boy and his mom are going to have to deal with for many years to come (actually for life) in terms of their mental status. Very, very, very sad.

I don't personally support the death penalty and hope I never have anything horrific happen to anyone I care about that will test that stance. If I felt it would serve as a deterrent to others committing inhumane crimes, I would perhaps change my beliefs, but it doesn't seem to stop maniacs from committing such barbaric acts.

Here's what I would like to see tried. For sickos like these, let's try what I'll call "The Lorena Bobbitt treatment." If these loonies are convicted beyone a reasonable doubt (such as with DNA evidence), then, yes, their Johnsons would be cut off. They would cry not to do it and that they'll never do this again. The truth is they would not. Cut em off and let them think about what they did and will never do again.

The word would spread around that the Man is cutting off perps' dicks. That might get their attention. And then put them in the joint for a long, long time.

To do what they did to this woman and her son, is impossible to understand on any level. And then to beat the child and pour household cleaners in his eyes. Too nuts for words.

No matter what these guys (and two of them are 16 and 14!) had been thru in their lives, no way can this be understood. They need severe punishment no doubt.

And the nation needs to put a ton more resources and energy into underserved to try and save many confused young people growing up in severely dysfunctional families and get the hell out of Iraq where we've made things worse and all for oil. Damn......Too many Americans are only out for themselves and don't care a bit about others. We can change that.

Back to Ayana, I can see why a couple of you posters wanted to remain anonymous based on the stupidity of your statements.

Life is hard for everyone no matter who you are. It is harder for some, however. So, give my girl a break and think before you send some madness.

Hope we can all find a way to make the world a little bit better place each day. Peace out.

I've noticed in the wilson case lines have been drawn by race, sex and income. To some a man and others a teenager. What really happened only those two know for sure.People are missing the major point. This is why young people should not have sex. They are more influenced by peer pressure and hormones keeping you horny. Its difficult for adults as we know, how do we expect them to think about it long term.Pregnancy, reputations, falling in love when its lust, rape, assult, etc.Being older he should have avoided the situation. If you have a promising future then sometimes you have to think about the situation you are putting yourself in.I personally know of a situation in which a girl was interested in a guy,he asked for sex she was willing but it didn't go down though.Once her friends discovered the incident, she was called a "hoe" and then to save face, she accused him of trying to rape her.

The florida incident is terrible for the victim and her son.I hope they catch the other suspects and bring them to trial quickly.Who in the hell wants to rape their mother.I agree with you 100% ms, any real mother will tell the truth on their child.Real moms know when their children have potential and when to get on that ass for embrassing them.

Ms for the Death penalty, but you are an angel.Talk about a conflict of interest there LOL. Conservative Texans.MS next you will telling us about your new NRA membership and how easy it was to instal your gun rack in the back of your truck. jusk kidding had to get another laugh in

I think ur wrong regarding the 1st case. Though I don't have all the facts a 17yr old getting brain from his 15yr old girl and taping it is one thing.....

Thi on the other hand this was just sick. I don't know know if death is the way 2 go, but I would have no sympathy 4 the assailants. Not at all. As far as I'm concerned....LET 'EM BURN!!!!!!!!!

If the state cared, IF they do. They shouldn't have minors in the same school as so-called adults. 14,15,16,17 yr olds shouldn't be in the same school going thru the same hormone changes if having sex is going to be a crime. to me it's entrapment. Most gilrs have their 1st sexual encounter with a older boys 1-2yrs older. So look at the crimes that occured.........hmmmm

Anonymous said...

why are 15yr olds in the same school with 17yr olds if sex b/t the 2 is a crime? This was punishable by 10years ! That's entrapment. I know plenty of High school kids that, according to that twisted law, should have gone to jail. Even yourself maybe?

I support a large number of Republican ideas as well. Here's one...get up off of your behind and earn what you want. If you don't hurt someone else in the process...job well done. I don't like the whole give me a handout so I can grow accustomed to receiving a reward even if I'm lazy. It's the kids of these folks that I'm concerned about. They should not be penalized because their parents are lazy. It's just sad that these same parents will buy clothes, liquor, drugs and go out to party with the welfare money instead of using it to support the innocent children that they have conceived.

Here in Atlanta, a particular urban radio stations has used the airways to place a spotlight on the media's lack of coverage on this Palm Beach, Florida case. In one way I am outraged that msn.com can publish a story about a thief deciding not to rob some prominent politicians in their D.C. backyard after having wine and cheese with them vs. broadcasting what happened in Florida so that all 10 involved can be caught and prosecuted. But...there are some sick people in the world that may have the audacity to copy this crime if it receives a lot of attention. I'm torn. What are your thoughts?

Also, there were some portions of this story that were not released at first due to the level of sickness involved. I would share what I found…but a few posters may say some things that I couldn’t stomach.

Genarlow was a different case all together. grown ass man? I've seen 21 year olds date 15 year olds and nothing happen to them and these same people are considered heroes of this country because they serve in the military. Genarlow was only two years older than she was. She gave the cat head...yeah,, real bad. Sorry, but her momma should have whooped bot h of their asses for being that stupid.
The teens who committed this act, on the other hand, should be killed. Forget prison. I don't feel like paying for these kids to eat, sleep, take showers, get a damn degree at my expense. People work hard to get three squares a day, some taking three jobs just to make sure their kids have something to eat. These sick little bastards not only raped a woman, but also force her 10 year old child to perform with them. And people still talk about prison? If Genarlow knew what he was doing, then these punks should have seen the writing on the wall on their trip to this woman's house.
